generics_syntax_declarations_2 error

Invalid attribute access on bounded type variable

When a PEP 695 type parameter has a bound (e.g., T: str), attribute accesses on parameters typed as T must be valid for the bound type.

class C[T: str]:
    def method(self, x: T):
        x.capitalize()  # OK - str has capitalize
        x.is_integer()  # E - str does NOT have is_integer

How to handle it

Every rule is on by default — strict is the default, not a cage. You can dial generics_syntax_declarations_2 down per-file or per-path from your editor or pyproject.toml, or fix the code so it type-checks. See the Type System rules and the complete diagnostic reference.
